Managing and growing experience design teams, teaching design thinking and design tools workshops,  and mentoring new and aspiring creatives.

Via the School of Visual Concepts, taught regular classes, in addition to corporate workshops for Nordstrom, REI, Microsoft, Brooks Running, Costco, Paula’s Choice  and Cengage.

Design tools course for Amazon’s first UX apprenticeship program

Taught as a kickoff for a cohort of apprentices, 32 students spent a year going through a rigorous program where if they passed successfully they were guaranteed a full-time job at Amazon.

Design thinking workshops for an engineering-forward audience

Partnering with the Vice President of Customer Experience at Aeris, we created three design thinking workshops whose goal was to move an engineering-forward company towards design thinking.

Employees from engineering, support, sales and marketing (15 in Chicago, 15 in San Jose, and 25 in Noida) broke out into teams and tackled a card sort and wireframing exercise, and presented to the rest of the group.

And sharing knowledge, herding cats, kerning,  karaoke, and running and cycling long distances slowly.

Enjoying Chicagoland with my family since the Cubs big win

I enjoy exploring Chicagoland with my family, and belting out a ballad or three at karaoke. I’ve lived in New York, Seattle and San Francisco, but have called Chicagoland my home since 2016.

Fundraising for great causes, solo or through workplaces

I’ve fundraised for Imerman Angels, American Cancer Society, Shriners Children’s, Bike MS, Sloan Kettering and PAWS Chicago for running and cycling events, individually and via corporate matching.

Dozens of kittens nurtured to their new homes via fostering

My family and I have fostered kittens through Tails Together, Paws & Claws Evanston and PAWS Chicago. Over 170 felines have temporarily stayed with us on their way to their forever homes!
